code 8

A few weeks back I got a code 8, tdc sensor. Changed out the distribuor, everything was fine. Then a few weeks after that I put a DX head on the car. Immediately the distributor threw code 8. Jeez. So I put ANOTHER distribuor on, Immediately again code 8. WTF?!?!?! Anyone know what might be causing this? Thanks guys.

Still going on damnit. The car is now running like crap, cutting out, missing, blah blah blah. BUT NOW I have an LS engine in the car and we changed engine bay harnesses. Could it be the Shock Tower harness? I guess Im going to fuck around with it today. Anyone have any clues? Thanks guys.

I would grab a digital multimeter and check for breakage in the wire.

Check the following wires:

ORG/BLU from the dizzy to the B13 pinout
WHT/BLU from the dizzy to the B14 pinout

Re: code 8 (EF9_SiR)

OK so I took the plug off the distributor and checked with an ohmmeter. It was at 430(i guess ohms) which is in spec. Haynes said between 350 and 700. So that tested ok. I hooked it back up and tested at the ECU plug. It tested about the same there (i think it was 409). Anyone have any idea why it would the cel comes on periodically? Thanks guys.
