Default Code 6 Code 8 and rev limit at 3200 rpms

Wired a b16a into a crx 88 dx.

Ok, I have the new ECU wired up but the car only revs to about 3200 rpms. It does drive, but it throws a code 6 and code 8, the water temp sensor works good - it and the wires go to the ECU good. Could it be an ecu problem? If so do you know if there is a way to get the ECU checked with out buying a new one. (Kinda low on cash).

Haven't checked code 8 yet.

Default Re: Code 6 Code 8 and rev limit at 3200 rpms (Matrix_Zero)

code 8 is TDC sensor-most likely the casue of your low rev-limit.this sensor is in the distributor.best thign i can tell you is get a shop manual and start troubleshooting the two sensors and circuits.
to test the ECU,put it in another car to see if it runs properly.if so,the problem's in your car,not the ECU.
