The Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) sends info to the ECU about the oxygen content in the exhaust gas. Based on the signals received from the HO2S, the ECU changes the length of time during which fuel is injected.
The HO2S has an internal heater that stabilizes the sensor's output to the ECU.
Code 41 indicates a problem with that INTERNAL HEATER specifically.
