Used - usually like $30ish?

New - like $100 I think

IMO its not a must buy new thing. As long as its in decent condition. Pretty sure any other D-series VSS will work (I put one from a D15b8 onto a D16Z6)

clean the connector at the tranny first.

I've only ever seen one VSS fail.

Get one from a junk yard. Is it a 2 bolt or a 1 bolt VSS?
