clutch wear question

i searched and couldnt find the answer to this.......lets say u just chillin in the car got it in gear and u got the clutch pushed in all the way...is that considered riding the clutch? does that cause premature wear?? or is riding the clutch only when u restin ur foot on the clutch pedal while driving.........in otha words if the car isnt in motion and u got the clutch pedal pushed in all the way...does that cause wear? just curiousssss because i always thought it did but ive been told other wise.....

Riding the clutch would be actually in gear.. while moving [driving using the gas pedal] and having the clutch pedal slightly pressed down.

Doing so will wear the clutch down.
