dude i just made a topic like this within the past week. search for it. im surprised no one has told you to already. and as far as i've been told is F1 sucks and will most likely expletive up your tranny in the long run. main thing people will tell you is "you get what you pay for" and its true. i just bought a unorthodox racing clutch for $300 and it was still 150 off the normal price so thats what i would do if i were you is search a brand on ebay and pay the extra money

Unortho kevlar clutch?

Sprung or unsprung?

I've got an Unortho unsprung kevlar clutch. Got it for about the same price you got yours for. How do you like it so far? I like it other than I wish it had a stiffer pressure plate.

Default Curious ?

I have a 92 civic hatch wit a b16 swap I beleive it has GSR trsnny but anyway I need to know when you press the clutch to the floor and you can still shift gears but it doesnt come all the way back up and isnt as hard as a stage 3 should be , what could possibly be a problem , it had work done on an axle about a week ago and has been leaking alittle here and there could it possibly be loss of fluid ?

It certainly could be...but you need to start your own thread man.

At the top of the forum screen you'll see a "New Topic" option.

I've heard nothing but praise from people on three clutch manufacturers. ACT, Clutch Masters, and Exedy. ACT and CM are very close as far as quality and durability as long as the components are matched to the application. Exedy to me is just a ***** out big buck serious piece of hardware, and unless you really have a lot of power or a lot of money, ACT or CM is who I would go with. I have an ACT Xtreme PP and a street/strip disc with a factory flywheel with better than 75k on it and it still scratches 3rd gear with my tall *** winter tires on the car. I will most definitely buy another ACT product when this clutch FINALLY wears out. And for the whole shebang(PP, disc, TOB, pilot bearing, alignment tool) only cost me 400$ with shipping.
And unless its from a really reputable seller, f!%k Ebay.

ACT=

The type of material will have to do with how long it'll last & how well it'll grab.

I'll use Unorthodox as an example. They have 3 compounds they use:
-Kevlar
-Ceramic
-Feramic

The kevlar is the softest, least grabbing material so it's made for low HP applications. The Feramic is a harder material & will hold more power, but I doubt it lasts as long.

From what I read the Kevlar clutch is supposed to last up to 3 or 4 times longer than a stock compound clutch.

From what the site said when I bought mine it stated that their Kevlar clutch would last up to 3 times longer than a clutch made out of the same material a stock one is made of.

Yeah, I've got a Kevlar one. It holds pretty well. It's supposed to hold about 80% more torque than than a stock clutch. Only thing that I don't really care for is how soft the pressure plate it. It really feels/engages just like a stock clutch.

Kevlar is not made just for low power applications. We carry kits with Kevlar lined discs that can easily handle 300hp+. I run a segmented Kevlar disc with a HD pressure plate in my (soon to turboed) EG and I love it. It engages incredibly smooth when I'm driving normal, but grabs hard when I need it.

I had to pull my clutch recently to change the pilot bearing and decided to check the disc. The Kevlar facing had NO wear at all after 6000 miles of fairly hard use. The pressure plate and flywheel friction surfaces showed no wear either.

If your looking for long life and high performance Kevlar is the way to go.
