Default clutch question

Does anyone know if oil gets on an EXEDY Stage 2 clutch is that clutch considered BAD now? I mean I don't think that the pads can or will obsorb it or anything but I was just wondering if anyone else knew? Reason being I think the Rear main seal is bad so oil is coming out and possibly getting on the clutch.. TIA

I don't think it's possible to get oil on your clutch because the flywheel is mounted in front of the seal. It would have to squirt oil up and over the flywheel to touch any part of the clutch. So no need to worry.

I'm sorry I forgot to mention it's a lighten flywheel (exedy) and it's got holes in it as well... Reason why we think it's doing that is because on the dyno the curve starts to go up then when the turbos sweet spot starts and VTEC (same time) kicks in the power curve dips down for a little while then goes back up... It's and Exedy stage 2 3puck clutch... It should be able to hold 240WHP....

maybe not oil but tranny fluid. this happened to me and it sucked. couldnt even pass any one on the road because the clutch would slip like crazy. i dont think the clutch would be considered "bad" i would try to dry it up and you should be good.

How did you get tranny fluid on the clutch? WHere was it leaking from to get into the bell housing? But yeah I'm thinking about just cleaning it up and reusing it... The disc itself still had quite a bit of meet left.. it was maybe 2000 miles old...

But we'll see.. would still like some more opinions though.. thanks again!

a 3-puck clutch shouldn't have a problem, I would think. So its a ceramic metal pads, right?

Should just do a nice hard engagement and with friction and temp the oil will burn off. Cleaning it before hand will help too. I wouldn't call it bad just because it had oil on it.

A power dip when VTEC comes on is common, depending on the part configuration and tuning.

No i'm not talking a small power dip I mean VTEC will engage and RPMs go up to about 7 or 8 K and then it'll drop back down and start to climb again... i'll try and post up the dyno.. It's really squigally too..
