Default Clutch Problems...

ok so i bought a 99dx hatch about a month ago and today i just wanted to see what she would do for a burnout, so i rev it up (probly to olny likr 4500) and dump it and my clutch slips like hell and of coarse you can deffinitly smell it. now it engauges way later then befor and thers not much feel to it. does this pretty much meen i need a new clutch? ( i know it sounds like a dumb question, but im tryin to stay away from a new clutch)

You can take the flywheel to most good transmission shops to be resurfaced. Just don't skimp, get a new throwout bearing and pilot bearing too. Changing the clutch is not too hard if you have a place to work on it and decent mechanical skills.

gripforce.com and clutchcityonline.com both have the exedy oe replacement clutch kit which has the clutch pressure plate and throwout bearing for around 120.

I put a 12lb chrome moly flywheel in my EG and it didn't make as much difference as I though it would. The engine revs faster, but aside from that not much change. But, if you have the cash and really want one, get it.
