clutch problem?

How do you know its time for a new clutch? Latley my car has been hard to get into first and second. When im driving i can get it in first easy to take off, but when i go to shift it into second it wont go in and i have to really pull on it hard to go in. Sometimes its hard and sometimes it just goes it. Then the same thing when im downshifting to slow down. I would be at 45 and go to put it in second and its a bitch and then into first at 25 and sometimes its hard to put in. Also i noticed that i hear a zzzzooooo noise kinda like air when i put the car in second, but its only second that makes the noise. Could it be the shifter bushing being bad and making it hard to shift? I would really apperciate any help.

Matt

you try to put it in 1st gear at 25 mph? ARE YOU NUTS???? You shouldnt put it in after like 10 mph (which is still bad)
Wow man. Get an automatic!

Mine was difficult just like that too, i replaced the shifter bushings and it did HELP the proplem quite a bit. Dident solve it entirly altho i know my trans is messed up (NEw record tranny messed up in less then 90 days!) - No more 5th gear its non existant, hard to shift at times, ext. Note to self- just cause the oil seal you put in is brand fricken new dosent mean its good! 500 or so miles with no oil = messed up tranny https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emsad.gif
