Clutch pressure plate question
Hey guys,
Whenever I installed the pressure plate I forgot to do it in a two-step sequence and just went straight to 20 ft pounds on those 10mm bolts. Will this do any harm? Also, would it make any difference if I took them out and then re torqued them properly, or is it too late? Thanks.

Re: Clutch pressure plate question
It might cause it to be out of balance, not really speaking from experience though. If it were me, I would be paranoid and redo it in the proper sequence.

I don't remember the factory spec being a two step process. I think it is straight to 20 ft/lbs anyway... however, there is a proper sequence. It is a double triangle pattern: Start at any bolt, torque it and then skip one clockwise and torque the 2nd one... skip one and torque the 3rd bolt of the "triangle"... then skip two bolts (move straight across the flywheel) and torque the 4th bolt, skip one clockwise and torque the 5th bolt, then skip one and torque the 6th bolt. Then double check all six in a clockwise pattern to make sure that you didn't miss any.
