hey so ive been loosing hydrolic fluid like crazy, and i finally traced the lead to here....and tried to use gasket maker to seal it up but very bad idea i have no idea what i was thinking...so first off what is this? and how do i stop it from leaking?

what you're trying to seal is simply a dust boot-fluid SHOULDN'T be in there.you need to replace your slave cylinder.

how do you get the hydrolic line out of the main (black) housing?

you just unscrew the pipe fitting right in the middle of your circle.

Flare nut wrench or a regular wrench will work as well, but I can't remember the size off the top of my head. Also to make certain it is the slave cylinder leaking and not the hardline, have someone pump the clutch pedal while you look for the source.

its a 8mm, use a flare-nut wrench so you dont strip it

10mm pipe wrench, 8mm is the bleeder nipple and turn towards the block not the fan.

I cannot stress that enough, to only use a flare nut wrench on those clutch and brake line fittings.

yes.probably worth the money to get a new one though-the seals in the slave cylinder are prone to failure if using a heavy duty pressure plate,and installing one in questionable condition may leave you with another failed part a lot sooner than you planned.

you can purchase a rebuild kit (a spring and new piston cup) from NAPA for around $5.63 and rebuild it yourself, not hard at all.

a new slave cylinder is only around $50.00 not really worth rebuilding in my opinion because its just going to leak again.

2 bolts and the fitting from the metal line to remove it..
make sure you bleed your clutch correctly also when your done!!!

Yeah mine was like 15.50 or soemthing so a rebuild kit wouldnt be worth it. Also whats the correct process for bleading the system?

very similar to bleeding brakes.fill the reservoir up with new brake fluid,and attach a clear hose to the bleed nipple,with the hose running into a catch can.slightly open the bleed screw and pump the pedal until no air runs out.keep an eye on the reservoir to make sure you don't run out of fluid.close the bleeder and see if the pedal feels good.you can also start the car and make sure the car shifts in and out of gear easily.if you have any problems,keep bleeding.
