Clutch Issues
I'm having some Clutch issues. It just started tonight. Here is what is it doing. When I push the clutch pedal to the floor it is hard to shift into gears. Most of the time I had to rev up or let it idle down to catch the gear. I have checked the fluid, it is good. Master and slave aren't leaking anywhere visable. Thank you

when i pushed the clutch in most of the time it will work properly..... once and awhile it will still want to go and when i shift during that time I litereally rip it out of gear. other that than the other times it just want go into gear unless i rev it up or let it idle down. The master and slave cylinder doesn't leak and the fluid is full as well. there isn't any air pockets in there either i flushed the lines today hoping maybe it had accumulated some air in the lines, it hasn't. I'm a lost again.

Hmm. Not sure. You could do the math. 80 bucks an hour for labor. How long it takes to do the clutch. And the clutch cost $120 roughly. Maybe even cheaper if you know where to look (EBAY!)

Re: Clutch Issues (STI champstar)
yeah, I've had mine done twice with me supplying the clutch and it was ~$200 each time for labor. One In Phx and another shop here in my town.

Re: Clutch Issues (ek forever guy)
i went out and bought an OEM clutch from auto zone(i get a discount from them of 20%) then went to honda and bought some Honda Guinine Trans Fluid and also sometime ago I had aquired brake fluid for the clutch.
Well when i tore it all down i found that the clutch was needing some attention. The springs in it we able to come out of the disc with my fingers pulling on them. I will have pics it is quite impressive that it just started giving me problems becuse something like this doesn't happen over night.
I installed the new clutch and also did a slave cyl on it too. It is 100% better and took a second to get use to the new feeling in the pedal. Bleeding the clutch is easy if you have a MightyVac. I would suggest them any day of the week. They are around $35.00 at Autozone and I bought it a while back and has saved me time and money. Espesally when I needed to do some EVAC checks as well(some).
Anyways, to answer the questions and answer the answers the clutch was bad and pressure plate was scorched. Thank you guys for your help.
