I just recently had a swap done to my car and after driving it for a little bit, I realized my clutch hard line has a hole in it and its squirting out clutch fluid. Has anybody changed that line before? I'm not too sure where I need to disconnect it and how I'm going to to pull out the old one to put in the new one. Mainly I'm concerned with where I disconnect it on the back side by the firewall. If you guys have a howto or can tell me, it would be great.



I'm referring to the line the yellow arrow points to. Also, the motor is already in, so is it going to be really difficult to remove this line? TIA

since you need to replace it, you should get the SS line from inlinefour.com/.

I thought the SS lines is used to replace the soft line. I need to replace the hard line. Is it long enough? I just want to how to remove the hard line.

Do you want to remove the hardline right there at the yellow, all the way back to the firewall? Or the hardline that goes right to the slave cylinder?

If you already know what hardline has a hole in it, then you already know which one you need to replace. Its a hardline, should be obvious where it is connected, just follow it.

Is it just one long hard line that goes all the way back to the clutch master cylinder or is there a part on the firewall where I can disconnect the line? I'm just wondering how difficult it will be to remove the line with the motor already in the car.

have you just looked at your car and FOLLOWED the hardline? To SEE where it goes and what it is connected too?

grab one from a junkyard, swap it over. done.

while you are at it, install a SS line from the above recommended place, I did

the hardline goes all the way to the clutch slave cylinder.taking it out is hard as hell.i would cut the old 1 out and try to manuver the new 1 in just be very careful a bent line and your screwed. it goes under the pass side brake hardline and underneathe the hard fuel lines and bake up underneathe the driverside brake hardline.....have a friend help and it works out so much better. hope this helps some

you need to remove your battery and the bracket underneath the battery in order to remove this clutch line. If you look in the pic here you can see that the pipe(#11) is attached to the joint(#10) which is located in the center of your firewall. And make sure and use a flare nut wrench(I think that's the term for it), you will strip it using a regular open end wrench. You'll need the 10mm and 12mm flare nut wrench.

Thanks 95hbMatt. The picture was very helpful and now I know what I will be dealing with when I go work on it this afternoon. Can I just buy some brake hard lines and get it flared to the right shape?

oh god, just go get a new one at the dealer or junkyard. It will be way cheaper then getting a shop to make you one.
