Clutch Grinding Noise
I'm sorry if this question has been answered before but:
I have a 1992 Civic CX Hatch and when I am not pressing in the clutch pedal there is a sort of grinding noise and when the clutch pedal is pressed in the grinding noise is not there. I think that I just need to replace the clutch but what do you guys think? I can still put the shifter in all of the gears smoothly. Thanks.

Re: Clutch Grinding Noise (all stock)
i have the same problem. i thought it was the clutch too. but when i took it to a transmission specialist the guy told me it wasn't the clutch. but it was the bearing going bad. he told be it was gonna cost me around $800 (mostly labor) to get it fixed. so right now i'm looking to get the whole tranny replaced. $800

Re: Clutch Grinding Noise (BlackJoker)
Yeah, I've asked some guys here in vegas about it and they believe the noise is the throw out bearing/pilot bearing. So clutch kits come with both of those huh? I found a SACHS one on nopi.com for like $140 before shipping. I'm just looking for a normal clutch for the time being and upgrading later..mostly due to the lack of resources to purchase a $300-$400 performance clutch kit that wont really do anything because my car is bone stock right now. But I've heard that SACHS is decent. What do you guys think? Thanks a lot.
