clutch goes after axle change d series
i changed boths half shafts on a 93' vx d series for a friend of mine 5 days ago. i havnt had a chance to check it over but i think his clutch just went. he said the spedo and the tach both climb when in gear but the car doesnt go anywhere. i had the same thing happen to me on an 89 accord i got for $20 when i changed the driver side axel. do you think this is just chance or could i have done somthing wrong? i've changed axels on b series motors before with no prolems what so ever.

The problem isn't the cluth if your speedometer and tachometer are working. That means the inner part of the shaft is turning, but not the whole axle. I had an axle separate in the boot and do this exact same thing. It's not the clutch!!!

It could be broken, but I'm guessing it's not in all the way. Make sure the clip is on the axle when you take it out. I'm talking about the "C" shaped ring on the inner side.
