what brands of clutches and flywheels would you recommend for performance gains.........looking for a good torque gain in my b16 civic hatch with faster shifting

If you're looking for a torque gain i suggest you stay away from a lightweight flywheel seeing as how they actually net you lower torque numbers with higher horsepower, and for your shifting, the onlyh way to make that better is to practice and get more confidence in yourself that you wont mis-shift. when i installed my exedy 8.5 lb. flywheel and clutch i did notice some gains that were worth the money!!! Even though this mod wont give you exactly what you want i still think you should consider it you wont regret it!!

than what are the upsides to getting a lightweight flywheel?......im confused

with the less weight you will notice a lil loss in torque, but the upside is that it free's up some horsepower to the wheels and you will notice that the rpm's raise a lil faster durring acceleration

yeah, i think it does come down to a matter opinion, my daily driveability didnt seem to be affected at all, as a matter of fact, my MPG went up but roughly 2MPG. And as for ACT, i jumped on the exedy bandwaggon after i killed 2 ACT pressure plates and exploded 3 ACT discs... but i did give them their chance to be #1 in my book

My guess is that you'll have more power during acceleration, but I think it makes the car less "drivable". I dont think I'd want a lightened flywheel on my B16. You can kill the engine easy enough with a stock one.

When I was thinking of upgrading my clutch I did some research and ACT seemed to be the best out there. Exedy coming in second. Everyone has their own expereinces/opionons I guess.</TD></TR></TABLE>

i just noticed that you have a 00 Si, that might be why you didnt do the upgrade, i recomend it to him cause he's in a lighter chasis... i think id want the stock flywheel in a heavier car too, i agree %100

so would acceleration increase with a lightened flywheels?........i guess thats the real question, not torque

when it comes down to the butt dyno....... the verdict is.... YES you will feel a difference in performance... i say do it!! like i said before, you wont regret it
