Clutch Differences BTW 4, 6 Puck & Full Organic Face???
My clutch is starting to slip and I was wondering what the difference in engagement between the 4 puck, 6 puck, and the full organic face applications on my B20B VTEC EK. My previous setup was on a D16Y7 which had a ACT heavy duty pressure plate, ACT full organic face, and a OEM flywheel. Thanks in advance.

If you plan on running the 4 puck I hope you have good mounts and a quaife. It chatters like crazy and is pretty rough engagement. The six puck is not as bad, but on the track with stock diff and axles will break some ****. I am running a 6 puck in my new setup that will be done soon, but in my H22 hatch I'm running the extreme pressure plate and performance organic disc. Grabs just as hard as a six puck but without the chatter.

Thanks JDMH22Hatch for your input. Anyone else with similar or different experience. I'm also planning on sticking with ACT because I believe they are the best clutches out on the market so far. Any more inputs anyone?

From what I know, all pucked clutch setups are hard on your drivetrain. A carbon/kevlar disk setup is the next thing on my list.

Very very true. Each company however varies in their clutches. My buddies ClutchMasters 4-puck is softer and engages softer than my full faced ACT. But if you're gonna stay all motor on a b20/vtec then the act xtpp/perf-org will be perfect.

a lot of the engagement has to do with the hub...whether it's sprung or un sprung.
A sprung hub will absorb the pulses from the crank and allow for smoothr engagement...unlike an unsprung, where you feel each cylinder firing when you are engaging it.
for the most part, you can never go wrong with an ACt HD/SS setup.
Easy daily driving and grabs like a summamabich it's whole life.
The less surface area of the clutch disc, the more pressure you are putting onto the clutch disc also, which will in turn, grab harder, given you have the proper pressure plate
