Default Clutch adjustment

Hey guys,
I did a search but couldn't find anything on this particular question. This weekend I got to drive a miata for a couple days and fell in love with the clutch. It begins to grab as soon as you lift it off the floor, making it more gradual and easier to drive with as opposed to honda clutches which have close to 2 inches of play when you lift it off the ground then suddenly grabs hard. I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to adjust the pedal to make it grab closer to the floor and be more gradual like a Mazda clutch? Thanks for any help.

I was thinking today how nice the clutch was on my

I agree. Honda makes great engines and transmissions, but their clutches suck. Everytime I drive my friend's Probe GT (made my mazda not ford), I can't get over how nice the clutch feels. There's gotta be a way to adjust the honda clutches to make it somewhat better.

I think there's actually a way to adjust the clutch play, I saw it before in a Haynes Honda Civic service manual. I'm pretty sure you'll find this info on all service type manuals.

You cant really adjust a honda clutch unless its a cable clutch. (under 92.) A stiffer pressure plate usually makes it grab a little closer to the floor. Thats about your only option on a hydro clutch. Oh and Honda motors are really great but there trannys are crap.

Unless you have a cable tranny i'd say your outta luck.

Just think about something for a second though, how many miles does that miatia have on it or how many miles on the clutch?

It sounds like you maybe due for a new clutch possibly.

I have 98,000 miles on mine and its oem and i can still grab 2nd and sometimes 3rd.. I willbe getting an Act XTSS hopefully soon
