Default Cluster swap - will speedo be correct?

Let's say I want to change the cluster from my VTEC trim with one from an Si trim. The tire sizes on these trims are 195/60 and 185/60 respectively. Will the new speedometer read incorrectly? How about the tach? Is the adjustment for tire size in the cluster or is it somewhere else in the electronics? Thanks.

There's no adjuster for the speedo. You'd need to get a Speedohealer and wire it in to get an accurate reading from the speedo if changing tire sizes.

So will the new cluster read correct or will it be off by a few percent?

Smaller tire = incorrect readings. Just that fact will make it read wrong.

I'm running a VTEC trim with stock tire sizes. I'm swapping in the cluster from a car with different tire sizes (Si trim). Will the new Si cluster read correctly since I'm using the correct tire size for the VTEC trim in the VTEC trim, or will the new cluster read incorrectly since I'm not using the right tire size for the cluster?

EDIT: That is to say, will an Si cluster in an otherwise stock VTEC trim still count correctly on the odometer and speedometer, or will they be a few percent faster?

What is the vtec trim you speak of? EX?

Those clusters weren't particularly accurate to start with so I wouldn't really worry about it. Even it was off you're looking at a 1 - 3MPH difference, nothing to worry about.

If you're that worried about your speed, there are at least a dozen good Android/iOS apps that use GPS tracking to give you an accurate speed.

It shouldnt really make a difference as the other people said but hell I just guestimate my speed on my silverado so it wouldn't matter as long as it works lol...

Ah I'm sorry, I meant Del Sol Si VTEC vs Si trim. My stock cluster had an electrical failure and I found an Si cluster for cheap. I'm very into hypermiling and like to have an accurate trip meter, and my stock cluster was less than 1% off on the odometer so I'm wondering what the new cluster's error will be. I don't know if it will read correctly or not - are the clusters the same or are they not?

I have both clusters inhand and I pulled them apart. The VTEC speedometer has "31 1 1 P10" written on it and the Si speedo has "31 1 1 N29" written on it. This suggests to me they are different parts, so logic tells me that since I'm installing a speedometer from a car that has ~2.2% smaller tires, the new speedometer will read 2.2% too high in my car... unless the adjustment is in the speed sensor gearing and not in the cluster.
