Default cluster swap.....fuel gauge pegged.

92 cx with a 92-95 ex cluster, works great except for the fuel gauge is pegged and i know it's not full, was about less then 3/4 when cx cluster came out.

I have searched and came up with only this.....having to move a wire

anyone?

just trace the wire on the old cluster and see what color the wire is, then repin it to the correct spot in the ex cluster. It's easiest if you just look behind the fuel guage and trace it from there back to the plug..

I look at it and the wires all goto the correct place. the + , the - and the F. I don't understand it, if i plug in the old cluster the fuel gauge works, the cluster works in the car it came out of and all the wires go to the right place, and the ex fuekl gauge still does not work in my cx. BUT, i noticed that there are two + wires coming from the new cluster, and one goe to a plavce on the harness where there is no wire in it.

Anyone that has installed an ex cluster in a cx please help me out here. i'm now officialy lost

the gauge itself may be broken.
if its possible, try putting in the old gas gauge to see if it works.

the cx gauge works so it's not the car, and the ex cluter worked when it was removed yesterday, but once i put the ex cluster in my cx the fuel gauge is always reading full now. how can i test the gauge to see if it works?

am i the only one this has happened to? i will have to see if i can find another car but it worked in the ex the day i took it out. it's starting to **** me off. I guess i could always go by the i get 230 miles to one tank of gas so fill up all the time and fill up more when i get close to 200 miles, but that isn't fixing the problem.
