Default Cluster Swap

I need some direction, I have a 1995 Honda Civic DX Coupe that is an Automatic. I want a tachometer, and I have had nothing but bad luck. I have read all over the internet that it is a plug and play swap...im not seeing this!!! I have tried 2 clusters, and when I fire up the car...nothing on the tachometer! I need to know what the problem is, my speedometer/odometer/trip does not work! I have been told that the DX automatic's harness does not support a tachometer and I have been told that I had a couple bad cluster's. I came here because I have been told that I could get answers, let hope I can.

Get a EX or Si cluster from a 92-95. Even the auto ones have a tach and yes it is 100% plug and play.

so i take it that the junk yard clusters are not the best ones to get. i had 2 the same day, and the tachometer's on both did not work...although they were both from an 94/92 LX 4dr Civic. I was just hoping that my harness supported the tach on the LX/EX cluster. i will try and find an EX cluster out of a 2 door and see what happens. where do i get an 92-95 Si cluster from? is it any different? is it better than the others? i am not familiar with the cluster swaps, and i have only had DX civic's...so the clusters have always been the same!
