Re: cluster gauge question (HCJDM1)
All '92-95 clusters are plug-and-play interchangeable.
The correct tachometer cluster for a DX would be the LX 4dr closter, which has the proper tach redline (6500 RPM) for the D15B7 engine.

Tranny has nothing to do with your redline, that's strictly engine based.
If you're putting a Z6 in there get a 92-95 Si or EX cluster. They'll be plug and play and will have the correct redline.

As Syndacate said, you'll want a cluster from an EX 2dr/4dr or Si 3dr for the Z6. They will have the correct 7200 RPM tach redline.

A "D15Y7" doesn't exist.
A Civic DX was also never available with a factory tachometer, so obviously someone swapped in a cluster from an EX or Si.

I'm just telling what exactly was stamped on my block... it puzzled me too... but that's what it has.. of course it has an ex cluster.. i put it in there.. and i was suprized the redline was that high.
edit:: after doing some more searching i don't know how you can say it doesn't exist...

No, it wasn't. If it was the stock engine, your block was stamped "D15B7."

Are you dense? The redline of the EX/Si cluster is higher because it has a different engine. The correct DX/LX redline is 6500 RPM, as found on the LX tachometer for the D15B7 engine.
