Cluster and climate control illumination not working.
First of all thanks for looking. I'm having this problem and really don't know where to look. I cheked the fuses and they are all ok, instrumentation and warning ligths all work fine, climate controls and indicators all work fine. But the illumination stoped working, when I turn on the head ligths the indicators on the ac buton reduce intensity as they should but the illumination don't work.
BTW: this started when I swaped my head unit for an aftermarket one, i ussed an oem style harness for the swap.
Any help will be greatly apreciated.

This just happened to me a yesterday on my 2000 CX. I was installing a cd player too. It turned out to be the dimmer switch. What you should try is to remove the switch and jump the black and the red wire together. Leave the red/black striped wire alone.
The switch is pretty easy to remove.
Then see if your dash lights up.

Re: (JavierP.R.)
from my experience, just jumping the wires for the dimmer switch wont do a thing. For some reason, the circuit needs some resistance (the dimmer switch) in order to light up.
I would just start looking for a dimmer switch.

Correct, start by checking your dimmer switch
