Icon2 Clunking noise while driving very slow?

I have a 92 hatch with an f20b. I just replaced the passenger side axle and ball joint.

I Started driving down my driveway and it's making a clunking noise? I didn't drive it any further then half way down the driveway. I'm pretty sure it's not the axle.

I am at a loss. Any help would be appreciated!

Are you turning? Typically it is the CV joints.

Not turning. Just going straight about 5 mph. To scared to go any faster.

What did you torque the wheels to?

Does it speed up as you go faster?

Ok, just making sure. It happens to forget torquing one wheel, and you pull out, cluck clunk clunk..... No harm in double checking.

Another thing to check, is the caliper all the wat tight on the bracket.

Those are probably the two easiest things to check first.

Look at all the suspension from under the car and see if there is anything rubbing on the wheels/tires or anything of that nature.

Upper ball joint(s)?

Grasp the upper part of the knuckle where it meets the upper control arm ball joint and yank on it. Check for play with the suspension loaded.

Make sure all fasteners are tight.

Also, check your tie rods; I've heard those make some clunking noises while driving.

Just posted this in another thread with a broken tie rod end:

Then put your hands at 6 and 3 oclock, shake tire back and forth, take note of any looseness.

-If there's the same amount of movement in both top to bottom and side to side, you have a bad wheel bearing
-If you only have movement top to bottom, then suspect a ball joint
-If you only have movement side to side, then start looking at inner and outter tie rod ends.

Nothing was rubbing anywhere. Wasn't the ball joints or the tie rod. I jacked it up and started spinning the wheel. This is what happened. Thanks everyone for your help.

cv joint fully seated in the trans?

It almost looks like the shaft of the cv joint is hitting the suspension fork of the strut.

I tell ya I watched that video 3 times and every time is said WTF.

It's all the way in there and it's not hitting anything.

Broken axle? Just a guess. I'm curious too. This kind of work is not really my forte.

It looks like the axle angle is too steep in the video and causing it to bind and clunk at the inner joint.

Is it me or your axle shaft looks a bit too long that it's bending the cv boot all weird?

The car was jacked up. It's not steep when its sitting on the ground.

Ah, got it. I have a clunking problem too. But it's only when I'm driving and hit a bump. Cannot figure it out because I cannot drive and hit a bump and look at the car at the same time, lol. Well, good luck fixing your problem.

still nothin, my man?

try taking everything apart, suspension, cv shafts etc.. and just put em back together.. when you put your cv shaft back in it'll click when its fully seated, its important- make sure it clicks

Went outside and jacked it up, took the tire off, put a block on the brakes to take the axle nut off. As I twisted it, it didn't break loose. It just made this clicking sound UGH!
