Clock Spring????? SRS, No Horn, And No Cruise
Hey guys, so i replaced me rack and pinion not to long ago.... and my steering i didnt set the wheel on dead center... then about 2 months later no horn, no cruise, and srs is on! so im wondering what you guys think?? clock spring by any chance?? And if so can you give me some input on how it looks... and what there could be wrong? like can i just solder the wires????? THANKS!

sounds like snapped clock spring.."easy to do"
dont try to repair your old clock spring not worth the trouble and mostly cant be repaired at all
get a new clock spring and center it
to center it very VERY gently turn it clockwise till it stops then turn it anticlockwise
until it stops and counting the turns
if i remmber i got 5.5 turns on myn
Now divide the turns in half eg myn turn it back 2.75 turns now the spring is centered
Make sure your steering is pointed straight and put the steering wheel on..

well i took my steering apart and i got that clock spring out... and i twisted it more then 6 times one way.. and it still kept going. so its snapped!! sucks. But thanks for the info on how to get it back in there correctly!
