Default clip troubles with headlight install

i had to replace my passenger side headlight bulb (EK civic). i had a hell of a time trying to get that darn paper clip thing back in. im not even sure its in the right way right now. since ill be buying another bulb for the driver side just to be fresh and up to date, anyone have any hints or suggestions on how to easily install these clips? or a pic of how these are supposed to be correctly installed so i can make sure they are in the right way.

I had nothing but trouble with them from day one. Now my car no longer sports them.

I don't personally own an EK but I know what your talking about. Yeah they can be a big pain in the *** but here is the trick. Make sure to hold the bulb in position as you "close" the paper clip. There will be a small section where it will clip to. Continue to hold the back of the bulb and gently press and slide down. That is really all the help I have for you. Good luck

i wonder if it would be easier to put the bulb in first with the clip and THEN attach the rubber boot to it. or is that even possible? cause its darn near impossible to pull that boot aside and stick a screwdriver in there without the clip lifting off the screw.

funny, i've only had trouble the very first time i did it. I took the screw out lolz.... but i took a long look at how it works and well the screw only acts as a hinge sorta... push and release the clip.. simple enough.. of course, my hands aren't of average size or bigger. good luck.
