Courtesy of my girlfriend

It's the "instrument lights" fuse.

PS - No such thing as an EK4 coupe

Unless you've got a B16A2, Vi-RS front and rear bumpers, and a full Vi-RS interior, then I don't know what you mean...

just tried switching the fuse, still no luck

A while back it magically turned on while i was driving then shut off suddenly. Any idea what this problem could be?

Try ******* with the plug on your dimmer switch. If they magically blink back on, and then off, then you need a new dimmer switch. If you've got a good friend with a 6th gen, then borrow his/hers.

Ok, i think i found the problem. I have an EK4 cluster and the dimmer doesnt plug into it. Is there some way i could splice the wires into it?

The dimmer doesn't plug into the cluster. It's a "switch" that plugs into the dash harness.

No, it plugs into the dash harness. It controls brightness on the cluster and radio. It does not affect: dome light, hazard/defrost, and axillary inputs (stock cd/tape slaves).
