Clicking/Ticking question
I have a '96 civic coupe d16y8 5spd. My problem is that when i have my clutch pedal in, the ticking/clicking noise goes away but no sooner to I let it out does it start again. Also when in gear and driving, such as 1st or 2nd, it tends to whine really loud but goes away as soon as I'm in the process of shifting. I'm curious to see if anyone else had this problem, and secondly if its the throwout bearing or something else causing the problem. Thank you!

Re: (KSWEST)
No I actually mean the input shaft bearing in the tranny case.
With the symptoms you describe that is usually the culprit.
Clutch in quiet/noisy out and whining in gear.
