Clear Coating C/F?
I did a search that resulted in no results so i will ask again. If anybody has clear coated their CF hoods or Spoon duckbills i would like to hear how you went about doing it. I have a Spoon CF wing and after a few years of sitting out of the sun it is fading like hell so i would like to get it cleared but i dont know what grit of sandpaper i should use to sand it down before i take it to get it clear coated.

Re: Clear Coating C/F? (neof69)
I am a painter in a body shop,I also have a cf hood, and lip and I cleared the hood about 2 months ago.I sanded the hood with 600 and 800 wet sand paper. You can't really **** up because its not like you can sand through the carbon.Tell them you want 3 coats of clear and see what kind of paint they use good clear(PPG,SIKKENS,DUPONT).It will look GREAT.

I took mine to a body shop and they sanded it down and re-sprayed it. Cost me $80 but it was worth it when I got it back all shiny and new. Kinda fun though driving without a hood for a day.
