Default Clear CEL code without resetting ECU

I have a code for downstream o2 sensor that I want to go away because I'm not going to replace it and I need to know if a CEL code pops up again.

All of the write ups on how to remove them involve resetting the ECU, which I can't because I'll lose my tune. 96 Civic y7

What kind of two cent setup do you have that you'll lose a tune if you reset your ECU?

Buy a ******* obd2 scanner. I got mine for 40 bucks even though my car is obd1. They will remove that code.

Yeah no, that's not how it works unless someone REALLY fucked up your wiring. Just reset the ECU.

I honestly have no idea. I'm good with mechanical stuff, not eletrical. I don't even know if I could get any info on the tune. A friend of a friend did all of the ECU/tuning work for me a few years back.

I used to play around with my car a lot back in high school when I had lots of time/no bills. I'm just trying to get it back to running correctly now. And its actually kind of fun having to go through junkyards to find dirt cheap parts.
