Clear CEL code without resetting ECU

Clear CEL code without resetting ECU
I have a code for downstream o2 sensor that I want to go away because I'm not going to replace it and I need to know if a CEL code pops up again.
All of the write ups on how to remove them involve resetting the ECU, which I can't because I'll lose my tune. 96 Civic y7

Buy a ******* obd2 scanner. I got mine for 40 bucks even though my car is obd1. They will remove that code.

if 40$ if too much, you need a new hobby sorry to break it to you
probably just a "chip" and even those you don't loose the basemap**, no ems that I know of goes lets the "tune" go away when you re-set the ecu.

I honestly have no idea. I'm good with mechanical stuff, not eletrical. I don't even know if I could get any info on the tune. A friend of a friend did all of the ECU/tuning work for me a few years back.

I used to play around with my car a lot back in high school when I had lots of time/no bills. I'm just trying to get it back to running correctly now. And its actually kind of fun having to go through junkyards to find dirt cheap parts.
