Re: cleaning intake manifold (EM1)
If it is off of the head, take off all hoses and wires, and TB, then buy a can of carb cleaner. Then spray into the manifold at the ports and the TB opening. All the gum and crap will just slide right off.

Re: cleaning intake manifold (EM1)
i just removed the intake hose to the throddle body and used seafoam..let the motor run while u spray it in..the shut down and spray while the body is open..let it stand for about 15 min. the startup again..u can spray more in if u want, wont hurt..then drive around another 15 min. to blow all the crap out..its going to smoke like crazy for a while..do it at nite if u can

Re: cleaning intake manifold (deepnite)
deepnite: didnt your CE light go on? when i tried cleaning my TB and running the car.. i had to clear the CE light/code afterwards.. yours just smoked but didnt throw codes? after i cleared it (disconnected battery).. it never lit up again.. so im assuming it was from the throttle body cleaner

Why? It's just going to get dirty again when you run the car.
Why whipe your ****?

WTF kind of answer is that? Do YOU wipe your ***? I sure hope so.
Look the bottom line is blowby accumulates in the intake manifold over time. You can clean it, but it's just going to get oily after about 100 miles.
Instead of spending money on a new gasket, go buy some carb cleaner and spray it in there.
