Clarification on the JDM K20a R specs
Hi was wondering what the redline is on the JDM k20a R motor .. as well as is it 6 speed or 5? Is the compressions 11.0-1 or 11.5-1 Ive been looking searching online for the specs and im surprised how many places are stating one or the other.. some will say 6 speed others 5 and compression as well.. If someone can clarify the Redline and transmission for me?
Thanks

There are 2 jdm k20a's. One from DC5R (JDM Integra) and the other from the CTR. They both have 11.5:1 compression. They both have a 6spd LSD. The main difference in performance is the exhaust manifold design which won't matter because if you're swapping, you'll need a new header.
If you're serious about this I would STRONGLY recommend getting a USDM Type S out of an RSX-S (k20a2). There is just too much of a price difference between the motors. Also, the k20a's are very tough to source out in Japan. There are not enough available at the moment so ppl are fighiting over the ones available, thus raising the prices.
With the money saved if you get a k20a2 you could get a quaife lsd for your tranny and have some money left over for IPS cams then you're making SICK power. Like 230whp. Sick power. You'll **** on k20a's all day.
