Clanking noises coming from springs and shocks?

Clanking noises coming from springs and shocks?
I've had Neuspeed Race springs on stock shocks for about 2 years until now. I always heard a clanking sound from the rear and sometimes the front when I go over certain bumps. I thought the shocks were blown and banging around or the springs hopping up from the perch. I just got Koni Yellows put in and I still hear those exact same sounds. Its driving me CRAZY
What exactly could it be? For some reason I keep thinking its the spring hopping up from the perch but does that happen at all?

i had the same thing happened to me when i installed my own shocks. turned out that i hadn't tighted the bolt tight enuff. you should always torque to specs with a torque wrench. check to see if all your bolts are as tight as they should be.

Well I know its not the bumpstops. And actually I didn't put them in. It was a speed shop here that did it. I would have hoped that they torqued everthing down. And since I've been hearing the sounds even before I put in the new shocks I don't think it was the shop. Its gotta be somewhere in the suspension.
Any other ideas? I heard maybe bushings in the arms? It couldn't be the springs jumping up from the perch, could it? Does that happen?

On my H & R Sports springs, I recall somethng similar.
Are you missing the stock rubber wrap on your springs?

On the stock springs, there are black rubber wraps on the top of the coils. It's to keep the springs from banging against each other as they compress.
When the shop did my springs, they put in some cheap *** plastic wrap on. They didn't even cover enough of the coil.
I posted the same problem 3 years ago. Someone said to check the wrap. I went back to look at the stock springs carefully, and there it was. I put them back, and no "clanking noise" from the springs again, no matter what road surface.
This girl actually wanted to buy them from me (cause the shop {took} lost hers). The sale fell through as she got them local. Good thing, cause I didn't know I needed them.

I'll check this weekend. If it is missing the rubber pieces, where do I get them at? Can you buy them from the dealer seperate?
You can see it on an unlowered Civic with a careful eye. It's on the top coil, right where that "cap" is. Once you get a good look, maybe you can use a thick electrical tape, and wrap it around a few times. You will probably have to jack the car up, and take the wheel off too.
Well, I hope that's the problem.
Good Luck.
