Civic ZC swap questions
I have a few questions about doing a 2nd Gen JDM ZC engine swap on a 1994 Civic DX coupe. Would the greddy turbo kit for the 92-95 civic EX's fit on it? Would i need an engine mount kit? And, would my stock D15B7 transmission work with the ZC engine? Any info would be helpful.

Re: Civic ZC swap questions (94_civic_guy)
b7 tranny will fit..
mounts will go, except i dont know about the the AC compressor area located stabalizer mount..
intake manifolds are a different bolt pattern between ZC and other D series intakes, the exhaust manifolds are the same bolt pattern but the ports in the head dont match up well to the ports of the header/manifold.
wiring will need to come from the current motor in your car, as will the distributer, injectors, etc.
Im not sure how the people who have done this swap work the OBD-0 intake manifold up with the OBD-1 car. If you can find a way to swap your existing manifold over to the ZC, it wouldnt be as difficult. Im not saying that its a difficult swap, just its kind of an akward swap.
I honestly think theres more performance potential with ANY of the newer d series motors (d16y7, d16y8, d16z6, etc), more parts support and more tuning abilities, especially when going with a turbo setup, if your looking to stay on a budget. An LS motor swap would be a better way to go if you are bent on getting a twin cam in there.

I have a DOHC ZC swap in myn 92 hatch...
The key is finding and OBD 1 stock ZC.....bolts right up same mount on the car, works with current non vtec wiring....its a weird swap yes and very cheap...turbo is the way to go on the motor...

Re: Civic ZC swap questions (SlowCivicHmm)
yep, im a tool. I totally forgot about the EG ZC..
questions if you get a chance- how hard are those to come by? Are they the same motor as the EF Si ZC w/ a different intake mani? ANd what kind of HP do they put out?

Re: Civic ZC swap questions (euclidEH3)
I dunno how rare I got mine on the fly cuz I needed a motor...basically its the same design as the older ef zc but with the z6 fuel system and the obd 1 components, plugs right in to any non vtec engine harness that is stock or new plugs at the dizzy and its in...runs off a chipped p06 or p75 but stock ecu's are fine redline is just too low....130 horse 111 torque or it might be 108, diff zc's were made cat no cat etc etc so you really have to dyno it..

NOPE!! d and b series don't mix t hat well...some b will fit d but not the head...
The DOHC ZC is basically a regular non vtec d series block, with a DUAL CAM head, its the black sheep of honda I swear!!
