Mod question
hey,
I have a 92 VX stock motor (d15z1) and i was wondering, everytime i look for a part it never has the VX as part of that product (ex: Dc sports 4-2-1 header for dx,cx, si) no love for the VX though, would these parts still be compatible with my car? thanks

Re: Mod question (Nader_D)
si, dx, headers are all the same. All single cam parts are the same. You can order all SI stuff for your car and it will fit your VX as far as basic bolt ons. The head cast moldings are the same.

Re: Mod question (MikeNice)
what about for intakes etc.. all the same ish, diferent pile? cause ive only seen specific parts for VX's when its like spark plugs, wires etc..
also, for my exhaust, its not 3 bolts that connect to the front pipe its a 2 bolt section? is this normal for all civic hatches? cause when my exhaust went on me, i got an cat-back from an SI and it was 3 bolts and couldnt fit? is my car just messed? or are all of em like that. and should a vtec(h ) engine have different exhaust piping?

maybe so, but some ULEV and economy cars like the VX, HX, and base 6th gens came with the catalytic converter built into the header - be sure you know what you are getting into. See if your cat is cast into your header. I would recommend just slapping a D16Z6 stock manifold on there - it should be cheap and it should flow better than your VX one. Actually I'll trade you!!! I have a Z6 manifold, and I'll trade you for your VX one. I'm in Windsor, ON - I ship mine, you ship yours... done deal!

Wrong.
The 1992-1995 CX and VX have unique exhaust manifolds with the catalytic converters built in. Their exhausts are also longer because of this.
In order to get a header on a CX or VX you'll need to buy a header for the 92-95 Si/DX, find a 1992-1995 Si/DX/EX catalytic convertor, and buy a cat-back exhaust for the 1992-1995 Si/DX or have a muffler shop modify yours or custom pipe one for you.
Intake is about the only normal bolt-on that will work, but honestly it's pointless because the VX intake manifold and T.B are tiny.
If you buy an aftermarket header make sure that it has the 02 bunge right where your VX one is. I know for a fact that DC has theirs in a totally different place and they ship a long o2 wire extension because of this.
BUT!
It will not wqork on a VX because the extension is only 4 wire and the VX has a 5 wire 02 sensor.

yeah,it's from where the VX has the cat built into the manifold.the exhaust manifold extends all the way to the B-pipe.you need to get a header/manifold for a D-series that doesn't have the built-in cat.you can then use a normal undercar 5th generation cat and it will bolt up to the new backpipe.
BTW-the VX isn't the best engine to mod-it's made for economy, period.save that money for at least a Z6 swap.

Re: (Vtecin94dx)
you could also just get a stock header from a 92-95 si/ex. bolts up to the head and exhaust perfect, but you won't have a cat so it's not streetable. this is what I did. you can get a used OEM si/ex header for about $40.

Jesus Christ bro, did you not even read any replies whatsoever?
I have already covered that exact thing and even gave him more useful info, as did others.
Read the entire topic before you reply next time, thanks.

Re: (B18C5-EH2)
one of my buddies has to sell his ride, he has the exact same car as me except dx/cx or wathever, he has a catback exhaust. we were curious if we were to switch over exhaust, would it be able to fit? or would i have to have to get custom welds to be put on..

Well is it a CX or DX?
Like I already stated above, the Cx will have the same set-up that your VX has.
If it is a DX then you'll need to get his exhaust, but then you'll also need a Si/DX cat and header or stock exhaust manifold.
Sometimes I feel like I'm wastig my time trying to help people when they won't even read my replies.
