Default Civic Type R Cam Install

I went down to Denver yesterday to get my CTR intake cam installed on the B16. Thanks to Matt for all his hard work and the detailed install. The car has a very nice powerband now, from mid-rang all the way to the top-end. I can't wait to see what the car lays down when I get it tuned. Even though the cam isn't too much different from the stock one it made a very noticable difference!

Getting Started

The Cams (CTR in front)

Taking Parts Off

Distributor Off

Cam Out

Tighten Back to Spec

Finshing Touchs

take off the valve cover, look at the camshafts, then time the car. done.

Jawad - There isn't a really big difference in sound at first with the cam. I only put in the CTR intake cam not both. Anyways after I took of my sliencer and opened her up I could notice a slight cahnge in the exhaust note vs. before.

b18cya - yeah Matt is a cool guy!

pennies_hatchie - Thanks

wildbillhatchbac & Hatchcrap Ownz J0o - I only droped in the intake cam, why you ask, because I got a killer deal on it and he only had the intake side. I also added a few more pics up above

slvrcivic97 - Thanks

Cosmo - really? The car is in alot better shape than when I posted a video up before, she pulls strong!

Spoon Hybrid - hahaha, yeah thats the best way to change it out

Bailhatch - more pics above

okay, im a little confused...
i figure its a b16a sir2 from your sig, and you said that you just installed the ctr intake cam, so are you running with the stock b16a exhaust cam? and also is the valvetrain just the stock b16a or did you upgrade it to something else (skunk2, toda, itr, etc) because you were reving the crap out of that motor

Yes I'm running the stock exhaust cam. The valvetrain is also stock and stock rev limit.
