Re: Civic Type R (Irishweird00)
would you want to daily drive civic type r everywhere?
imagine parking that at the mall for a couple hours
or in a public place for a while. that is a THIEF MAGNET worse than any other car.
not to mention drive throughs, every riceboy in your area trying to race you or asking how you did your RHD conversion

Re: Civic Type R (Kamin)
Yeah well see.....guy bought it and is selling it, just bought to sell, he is getting it legalized....they said you had to take to honda manufacturing place and replace reinforcment bars under bumpers and what not with bigger bars, and go thorugh emissions and other tests, lots of paper work but its not that big of a deal that people make it out to be. But yeah i thought of it getn stolen. He has 30 more coming in..yeah thats right 30 more comin in si-r's and type-r's but who knows...i really want it...just time and prob be gone after i bought it...

you are muncie IN, you have to ask yourself how much of a target it will be? I dont know jack about Muncie. I do know where I live theft is a very SMALL problem, but it is definately not like that other places, I think this would be ur biggest concern.

Re: Civic Type R (gdrum)
If it's street legal then get it. If you buy a USDM EK and mod it half way of a CTR, that would cost more than the CTR. And about it getting stolen...Jesus, it's just a Civic that most insurance company can insure.

just a civic? any insurrance company can insure a CTR, but i guarante if its stolen and not recovered they will not import and legalize another one for you, they'll just buy you a new EK and say its the same car.

96 CTR's are still B16A's, and still considered a SiRII, not CTR's.
B16B's weren't made till 97, which is a CTR.
Not worth it.

ummm maybe you should check the pros and cons. ek9 shell/ stock= cheap + 5 g's for a motor w/ less than 40k on it VS. something flashy w/ all the JDM stuff inside and yes, take that chance of being stolen and then having to start back to square one after the insurence kicks in. Plus the hassle of getting that car registered for DMV/ smoged under the table. but then it's up to him.

Good point; there's no such thing as a 96 CTR -- they only came out in late '97. Maybe you better check this thing out properly...
