Civic Tune up guide.
So I would like to know how to do my own tuneups! I have looked on the net and found long lists of things to do for certain cars but not for civics. I keep getting stuff that refers to parts that my car doesn't have. I have a 1.5 Liter Fuel Injected 93 Honda Civic EX Coupe.
What would you recommend as far as a tuneup goes that would keep my Honda in good running condition. I am not trying to mod it out or supe it up just yet, I'm just looking for an idea of some things that I can do to help it run better and stay that way for the long run.

Change your spark plugs/wires/distributor
change your oil/fuel filter
change your oil
wash it once every week or two depending on how clean you want it to stay
change your air filter..
those are basic tune up things besides washing it obviously.
anyone else add more stuff if i missed the BASICS?

Buy your OEM ignition parts from http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com
The rotor has this funky little screw that holds in on the dizzy shaft. I have had to use a cut off wheel to cut the plastic rotor and put a small pair of vise grips on the screw to break it loose.
It's easy to remove the dizzy from the engine, don't worry it only goes in one way

....buy some fuel injectior cleaner that poors into the gas tank
wax your car
radator and transmission flush
you dont want a new distributor thats around $140
but you should buy a new rotor and cap....if yours is the originional one then your rotor is about shot
lube your hindges also...one of the most missed part on old cars on the hindges(door,hood,trunk,...if you keep them well lubed it will save you having to replace them in a couple years
store in a garage
replace weather stripping
theres about 200-500 depending on brands, of stuff to make your honda run like new

This is something you could start with. Granted this is for 6th gens, but the 5th gens should be similar.
