civic throttle postion sensor repair
Throttle body was dropped and the throttle position sensor was broken. Dealer says they can't be replaced and I must buy a new throttle body. Is there anybody that repairs or replaces the sensor?

Not really, the TPS is a PITA to adjust properly. And the TPS is rather expensive. This is an oportunity to buy a larger Honda TB. Plus, you can pick up used ones for about the cost of the sensor. |
you can look in the classidieds for a used one from a JDM engine, the jdm ones unscrew from the TB, or call a JDM engine distributor they will probably sell you a used one cheap

Re: (egsleepercivic)
Are the JDM throttle bodies the same bore size?
|
Re: (Ernie J)
why does it matter if its jdm or not.
|
it doesn't they are the same but the JDM tb have TPS sensors that are screwed in, instead of being riveted to the TB... This makes them a lot easier to remove and replace, and adjust
Once you remove the rivets from your USDM tb you can replace them with screws |
Re: (egsleepercivic)
oh now i know and i just realized its super bowl sunday wouldnt a jdm one cost more?
|
no because you can't buy a USDM TPS without buying the throttle body
