Ive beaten new civic si's, v6 mustangs, and other 4 cylinder cars mostly because people can't drive. i posted a 16.992 @ 78.84MPH at the drag strip with no mods.
... .... .....LMFAO

all those cars aren't the quickest, but a hell of a lot faster than 16.992

That car is a POS! It may be a Toyota, but it has GM design, and the Matrix is more of a mini van than the new Civic Si.

i believe it was built by some students who made the design and was shared between gm and toy. both with the same motor but differen body style and chassis. i believe it isnt a pos that is why i am buying one. not for racing but for a daily commuter.

Well a friend of mine bought one on looks alone, he was content with it for about a week, after that he just couldn't take it anymore, and he traded it in after only having it for a week and a half. It's up to you what car you buy, but I suggest that you also consider the Mazda Protoge5, A lot better quality than the Matrix, plus you can get a fully loaded one for the same price as a basic Matrix.

its really disgusting how civics are viewed upon when honda has 1. Almost broken into 7 second 1/4 mile barrier and still retain a FWD platform. 2. multiple 10 second streetable civics 3. proven to be a formidable apponent on a road course 4. gotton 10 second ET's all motor and still retaining FWD chassis as well as remaining a unibody.

Domestic owners can talk ****.
Other sport compact owners have no room to talk ****.

the matrix is a toyota design, they (matrix/vibe) is like the (corolla/prizm) which are made in the same plant here in california, the vibe is a debadged matrix, the vibe also only comes with the 1zz engine, while the matrix comes with that or the 2zz which is the 180hp one.. i drive these things all day long, i'm not too impressed.. the 4wd will only be in XR trim (130ish hp) and ONLY paired with an automatic trans.

I'd rather have a Protege than a ****** matrix, that bitch is taller than a blazer (or atleast the one it was parked next to... no kiddin man, see it EVERY DAY at school)

All those dumbasses are bragging about beating is ricers, NO ONE on here runs 18's even stock, muchless do just about any of us (with the exception of me ) run any slower than 17's... Dood only beat a v6 mustang because the mustang was in reverse... These guys sound like ricers when they rag on civics and domestics. Mustangs can KICK *** and so can civics, matrix's are fat *** "dad" cars (no offense to the guy who's gonna buy one)

You don't get bragging rights with times of almost 17's. We need to drag the guys with all motor b18c5's running 12.8-13's over there and show them who's boss

with rice

i want a matrix because of the qaulity of the car. toyota has a good name for cars and suvs. not to sure about trucks. but i was also leaning towards a wrx wagon and a crv. anything with a awd or 4wd. living in Minnesota isn't the greatest when the fucken winter hits and your car isnt going anywhere. i dont care if you have fwd. if the snow is deep you still aignt going anywhere. best chances is a 4wd or a awd. you will probably get stuck still but your chances of getting out is much better.

as a Toyota parts man, let me be the one to tell you that a Matrix wouldn't fall out of a tree...I think I would rather drive a Corolla S than that POS, because at least the Corolla would rev hard to 6600...

Bwahhhaahahhaha.... catches breath ... bwhwhahhahahah. granted there are some slower mustangs i.e. convertible topped ones that I've seen run 18s at the strip but to base your claims on one of those..... and were the other cars even aware of a race??

ran my xr with the trd filter at a local track. It posted mid to low 18s. As for going against civics its close. If you beat them off the line, your good. Otherwise you will go exactly the same (auto vs auto) up to 70mph or so where you will start to pull away slightly. So basically, toast them on the line and your good.
HaHAHAHA, an automatic DX coupe runs better times than that, yet he thinks he is fast, hehe

HaHa, there is no way a Matrix can touch a Se-R let alone a Spev V

Why people decide to choose the Matrix to be a race car is beyond me.
All those cars can dust an XR.
yeah.... now we're talking

Okay, now I'm PRAYING for a Matrix to come to the track so I can dust it and then poop on it!
