Civic Si or Integra GSR???

Civic Si or Integra GSR???
I am totally lost!!! This will be my first Honda and I have no clue which to get. My budget and lack of being able to find an Integra Type R has left me with 2 options, EM1 Civic SI or Integra GSR (Sedan or Coupe which is another decision later down the road). This will be my daily driver. Pros and cons of both would be appreciated. I am guessing this is a common question but after some research I would like to get more recent opinions rather then the ones I found which were pretty old. Thanks in advance.

Re: Civic Si or Integra GSR???
I'm a fan of 4 door, because they are literally way more convient. And 4 door Integra GSRs are harder to find than EM1s I would say.

A CX, HX, VX even a DX Civic would be lighter and cheaper, more money to spend on a low mileage swap from Japan or rebuilding a USDM one.
I don't care about appearances though, for me it's availability or parts...

MO i like the body style of the si better but like the repsone of the c1 motor better. So i took my 00 ek and put a gsr motor in. Search craigslist for a motor and rebuild it. you can get a 00 civic dx for cheap and spend the extra money on the motor. Not sure were your tech skills are but for the most part the swap is fairly easy except a couple of things.

94-01 Integra chassis code DC4/DB8/DB7/DC2/DC231(R)
maybe you mean exterior styling? the minor cosmetic changes were 98-01 bumpers as opposed to 94-97 bumpers, a few slight other differences but nothing major.
BTW, i am really wondering what kind of English system, if any, they have in place in the state of California. It's almost like they need a language selector at the main screen that let's you choose English or Californian. Not knocking you personally but read what you wrote and ask yourself if that's the same way it sounded in your head before you applied it to the keyboard.

Personally, I really wouldn't mind a JDM fronted 4-door gsr for a daily driver.
As it is, I have a gsr swapped 2000 Civic EX, and I think it's the best of all worlds. It's lighter than the GSR, faster than the SI, and not as much of a theft magnet as either. The right EX can be easily modded to be as good as or better than both cars very easily.
I used to really love EM1s until I realized that my EJ is 90% the same car as an EM1 at 60% of the price. Buy a 99-00 EX, swap in a gsr engine, Integra seats, rear disc, and a rear sway, and you'll have a better car than an EM1 for a similar price, and it (hopefully) won't attract thieves as much due to it not having vtec emblems or being Electron Blue.
I hate to say it because I like them, but EM1s are overpriced and not worth it for what you get.
Or, if you don't feel like doing the mods, buy an Integra GSR. It'll be slightly faster than the EM1 and probably more comfortable, although not quite as quick as a gsr swapped EX.
My 2 cents.
EDIT: depending on your location, a *legal* gsr swap in a 99-00 Civic is slightly more difficult than older cars due to issues with the OBD2b gsr ECU.

Re: Civic Si or Integra GSR???
So its looking like its about even. It seems that Honda has built these cars to be too similar. Well hopefully I will find a Type R then my mind will be made up for me if not I guess I will just go buy whatever I find in better condition for the cheapest price. Thanks for your opinions. I never thought I would ever be buying a Honda but I guess everyone changes. I am just in love with these damn cars now!
