Civic Si built head and block.. clutch question
I got a friend who has a '99-'00 Civic Si w/ built head ( cams, valves, springs, retainers) and built block (rings, pistons, ring lands, etc.) who is expecting close to 70-100 hp on the setup... he wanted to replace stock clutch b/c it needs replacing w/ another OEM clutch..i told him to go aftermarket... what stage should i recommend?

uh, he should be expecting a lot more power than 70-100 whp. if its 200-250 whp, i would suggest a act HD pp and a 6 puck disc. if its 250-300 i would suggest a ACT xtreme pp and 6 puck, if its under 200, i would suggest a act hd pp and a street/strip disc
if you havent noticed, i like ACT.

i personally dont thnik he would be getting over 100 at the wheels, let alone 70.
dont get me wrong, it will pull a hella lot harder. but dont think in AEM's terms, how they say that there intake would add 15 hp at the fly, it mearly added 2 or 3 at the fly, and maybe 1hp at the wheels. and when u added 1 hp to your wheels, you noticed a little difference right?...well my point is adding 50 to the wheels even is a **** lot of power, but if you want gains like 75 at the wheels, yer gonna have to skip the N/A tuning, and spray, or purchase some sort of SNAIL.if ya kno wut i mean.
good luck to your friend, he doin a very similar setup that im trying to accomplish.

i don't know how you measure hp in arizona, but if he sees over 180hp i'd be really impressed.
the only real power makers are the cams (unknown) and potentially the pistons... you don't often see b16's making 200whp n/a.
to answer the question, an exedy or clutchmaster stage 1 or 2 should be just fine. if it's a daily driver, think conservatively since most driving will be around town/highway. and a lightened flywheel will make a big difference.

SOrry, i keep on thinkin FI. i made 225 on 7psi with my stock b16. but anyways, If I had an NA, i would go with the ACT 8.8lb FW, ACT HD PP, and ACT SS disc.
