Default Civic Shift Boot

My shift boot don't seem to be mounted all the way up and stay there. It always glides down exposing the ugly stick. I used double side tap and got it where I wanted but when I put it to first....I guess its not long enough. Will a replacement type r boot correct the problem?

Small zip tie under the collar of the boot will fix your problem.

or a thick rubber band wrapped around the shifter 2-3 times or so. Easier to remove.

Thick rubber O-ring, put it on too high and screw the shifter on and it will push down keeping the boot tight against the shifter.

I have a CTR boot and it stays up. It doesn't show the stick.

Some boots stay up and some start to sit low. I think that plastic ring around the top of the boot cracks. I used the old rubberband/electrical tape trick and it worked fine.
