Civic Overheatting Problems?
Ok 92 Hatch, B18B swap.
Started overheating after running for a little while, mainly at long stop lights or in traffic. First, i noticed the water pump was leaking. Put in a new water pump, still overheating, then i noticed when it overheated the top hose to the radiator was hot and the bottom hose was cold, so i took the thermostat out it was bad got a new one, now after a while it will do the same overheat if it is sitting for a long time running and the radiator is pretty good so what else is left? Headgasket???
thanks!

Check the psi for the system, also for the radiator cap. The psi the system should hold will be about 15~ definitely not less than 10. Shouldn't drain psi either when you do the test. You should be able to rent the tool+rad cap adapter from any kragen/autozone.

check your oil cap and see if there is any residue that could be described as looking like chocolate milk. It might also clue you in to a head gasket problem as it means you're burning coolant

Re: Civic Overheatting Problems?
make sure your condenser fan is coming on.
leave the car on for a while make sure it comes on if it doesnt, disconnect the rad fan switch and connect the 2 terminals on the disconnect side with a paperclip or piece of wire, if the rad fan comes on you either have air in the system or the switch is bad. if it doesnt come on the fan itself could be bad or the relay is. let us know what you find.

Bleed the cooling system:
(This procedure may take 20-30 minutes)
1) Park the car on an inclined driveway with the front end higher than the rear.
2) Push the dash heater lever/**** to MAX heat.
3) Follow the directions in the diagram below
