Default civic overheating for no reason

i have a 94 civic with a b18b1 swap and ever sense i replased the thermostat and bipassed the heater core my car overheats but when i beat on it the temp goes down... could it be bad thermostat eventhough its new? or is that a sign that my waterpump going bad. just as a reference the bottom pipe that that goes to the radiator from the thermostat is always cold unless it overheats! wtf does that mean?

Could be a bad radiator or water pump.

Pressure test the system see if the radiator leaks.

if its cold then its stuck open. test your fan jumping the thermostat fan switch with the key on and a paper clip or piece of wire. are you loosing coolant? if not then he definitely doesn't have a leaking rad.

Stupid question, but did you bleed the coolant?

definitely cant rush bleeding the coolant system it has to circulate through 2 fan cycles with the rad cap off. its definitely not overheating for no reason. the way your describing it has air in the system or your new t stat is defective buy an OEM one not an autozone one.

i found out the problem. but super simple the radiator cap was leaking and causing the pressure to go down therefore not flowing right.... but i just drove it for a good 30 minutes not overheating. but reaching the middle now i have ot bleed it agian hopfully that cures my problem
