it just unplugs from inside the steering column, unplugging it wont set it off. I think you have to actually try to tamper with it, by hooking up wires with running current to the plug, to get it to go off. Although, you will get a permenant SRS light on your dash due to its removal.

i didnt look at the other link but you can bypass the driver airbag using a 2.2ohm resistor in its place. just gotta know what pins to use and reset the srs light so the pass. airbag will be functional.
or you can just remove the bulb from the cluster but i dont advise that.
and always disconnect the battery before any electrical work dont care how small. and something about waiting 10 minutes for the airbag but i dont know if thats fictional.
just take your time. any questions jsut ask.

Yes, I would too. I read it somewhere, but you have to wait several minutes (after disconnecting the Neg. cable) before attemping to disconnect an SRS Airbag. There should be bolts that are a little odd that you have to remove. For my DB Integra I had to remove two Torques bolts on either side of the airbag for it to come out. It might be the same but who knows......

i had to deal with the air bag when i switched out my wheel too. My method was a little unpractical / not by the book but it was easy and it worked. i just cut ot the center on the steering wheel so the air bag was exposed, then cut out the air bag and wala... no air bag. after that i just proceeded to take out the steering wheel.
I don't know if you want to do it like that, but it worked for me.

yeah an all time SRS light sucks...just take the bulb out of the cluster, cause its annoying...since i have an eg i have an siR cluster and they dont have srs lights in them...so i lucked out after i bought that.
just unscrew the air bag...discounect it and take the wheel off, its simple. also if you're that worried about it going off, then just pull the air bag fuse....then it cant go off on you.
