Civic Misses when accelerating....
I'm running out of ideas!
1997 Civic DX manual trans d16y8 basically stock with almost 200k miles now.
The car will missfire and hesitate once about every three or four times I accelerate from a stop. I usually keep the gas pedal off the floor so it only happens under 2500 rpms. The car ides very low now, used to be around 750 now its around 3-400 when hot.
I've replaced:
-Cap
-Rotor
-Wires
-Plugs
-Fuel filter
-no vacuum leaks
-NO CEL's (yes my check engine light works)
Car will seriously sputter and not rev past 2500 rpms once in a while, like 2-3 months. Check engine light comes on when it dies, but it does not store a CEL so when I scan it, its like nothing happened.
ANY ideas for what I should check next?? I can only think that the injectors are gettin clogged. The only thing left to add is that I have been getting better MPG's than I used to, from 33 to about 39 without changing driving habits. THANKS!!
