civic and ITR evap purge solenoids
I want to know if anyone has any idea about whether or not these 2 evap purge solenoids are the same, the one on top is from a 96-00 civic (fuel rail mounted solenoid) and the bottom one is from an integra type R (mounted on the firewall). Both OBD2.
My guess is internally these 2 solenoids have the same exact coil, I would like to save $100 on not having to buy an ITR one and since I have a few of these civic ones laying around I would like use it. But I also don’t want to fry a $150 ITR ECU either… thoughts, opinions??? If I had an ITR solenoid to test, I could measure the current draw from each one at battery voltage, which would pretty much guarantee there the same or different Civic: http://members.aol.com/sicones/evapsolenoid.jpg. Re: civic and ITR evap purge solenoids (sicones)
just try the civic one, its not going to kill your ecu, if anything its going to throw a code for a reason or other

the coils should be close to the same current draw.
Functionally, they should be the same also, but flow direction may be a problem figuring out. |
Re: (Relic1)
I know how the civic one flows, I have one mounted on my car, my brothers, and an engine in my garage and another intake manifold laying around, I have too many https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif
