civic hx overheating
my civic is overheating. i've tried everything. thermostat is good. only overheats in the city (not expressway) which leads me to believe its the fan. i hooked the fan directly to the battery and it turned on. Do you think its the relay? Is there something else I should check..........thanks

First of all is the radiator toped off and if not it might leak. Have you ever heard your cooling fan run?? if not its probaly the cooling fan thermostat. I know in my si the cooling fan doesnt work and it doesnt overheat.

the fan only turns on when its overheating. the proper coolant and ammount is in the radiator. when it overheats the water boils and comes out the overflow. where is the cooling fan thermostat?

Re: (mika)
take a look at the radiator see if u see sum green stuff around it, radiator mite be leaking. if not it sounds like your head gasket is taking a **** on u and its pushing the coolant back the other way. good luck wit is bro
