civic help
picked up a 93 hb for 500. the old man said he drove it and it started overheating so he parked it then it wouldnt start. i got it home messed with it. had to jump it with the key held cranking until it finally struggled to turn over. i looked at the oil and its kinda milky but i havent seen any leaking. a friend said it was the water pump or maybe the head gasket. but would that cause it to just crank? cars getting spark and fuel. when i got it started it stayed running. its just getting it to start is super hard. any ideas?

you should do a general overhaul on it since it has sat. Change the oil, tranny fluid, coolant flush, plugs and plug wires, fuel filter, and thermostat. While your at it check all of your hoses for cracks/leaks.
I've seen cars that run like **** turn right around with a basic overhaul. It can really help and it really doesn't cost all too much, plus it should be done anyway with a new car so you know where your at maintenance ways.. Do a compression test and make sure there are no vacuum leaks.
